UNDERWRITING BUSINESS ANALYST
The Pool has an immediate opening for an Underwriting Business Analyst in the Underwriting Department, working out of our main office in Austin.
The Business Analyst is assigned to the Underwriting Software Development unit and provides direct support to UW/IT Liaison in coordination and integration of all department data systems to maximize quality and usability of department output. Performs analysis of business requirements and assesses software changes based on business and technical system constraints and Underwriting Department needs. Supports quality assurance in the creation of test plans and achieves integration and application testing to ensure business requirements are satisfied. Works with software contractor to provide detailed documentation of software requirements and replicates reported problems. Solves analytical problems using qualitative and quantitative information and provides effective solutions. Executes system testing of software releases throughout the development cycle. Attends to on-going support needs with the IT Department with respect to development, enhancement, and modification of software programs.
The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills along with strong database and technical software knowledge in addition to knowledge of the insurance industry, particularly commercial lines and software testing. Creative application of software and databases to underwriting processes. Requires extensive database and spreadsheet software skills and iSeries knowledge. Requires ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to make sound judgments and work independently; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees from various departments.
Starting monthly salary is $4,609 (DOQ) with a complete benefits package .
