Loss Prevention Department

The Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool (the Pool) has long recognized the fundamental role that loss prevention has in lowering costs incurred by local governments. Loss Prevention services provided by the Pool consist of many programs to address the varied loss exposures of local governments. Programs are developed to address recurring high-risk exposures to prevent employee injuries, preserve assets and avoid injury to the public. The Pool strives to provide programs and services by preventing and reducing losses without interfering with the members' primary functions. Through a variety of established training programs, the Pool's professional staff assists members in all areas of local government operations and, if needed, designs custom training programs to fit the unique needs of the members concerning internal safety programs and other loss prevention initiatives. The Pool's Loss Prevention staff of twenty-four people has a wide range of experience and education including professional designations. Several staff members are bilingual and can provide assistance when needed.
